Day 5

Destination - John Day, Oregon Miles/Total 117/386 Climb - 5,000'
Today was perfect - Great Weather, mild temps and a 117 mile day. The is my first century (100 miles), and to top it off we went another 17 miles - Wow! The day started with a mild climb up into the Pines in cool tempratures. The area looked much the same as Big Bear without the bark beatles. After reaching the top we had a fast decent only to hit the hardest climb we've had so far (2,000' in five miles). The rest was fairly mild doing 17 MPH going up hill with a stiff tailwind. The hotel was a welcome site though.
