I did it! - With Kati,
Jenn and Trevor, along with family and friends of all the other families cheering us on, we arrived at the beach under police escort to end a 3,600 mile journey across the United States and into Portsmouth. To say this is monumental is an understatement. Looking back to Astoria that first day when I wasn't sure I could ride so many miles day after day and finding myself knocking out over 500 miles per week along with nine centuries over 100 miles. The fear of climbing over huge mountain ranges and then finding myself standing at the top of Teton Pass looking down into Jackson Hole, knowing at that point the fear of not being up to the task was gone. At that point no daily goal seemed out of reach.
Another aspect of this trip was Mt Hood, the Tetons, Mt Rushmore, The Columbia, Snake and Mississippi Rivers, the Great Lakes and all the beautiful country in between. Did I mention Wall Drug?
All the posts with the encouragement, friends like John and Nancy checking in with me in Wyoming, Bill riding with me in Michigan, Kati arriving in Niagara Falls to support me the rest of the way, and then Jenn and Trevor surprising me in New Hampshire. I can't thank all of you enough for the support and encouragement.
All of us gathered one last time for this picture.
